Idioms are quite horrors for us Indonesian, because sometimes we can make sense of their meanings only by knowing the words that build them up. Yeah, another reason is we Indonesian have different cultures from that of American.

In my case, as a novel translator, “encountering idioms” is my middle name. Hehehe… I mean, I can expect to see idioms anytime I open any page of a novel to translate. Yeah, it can be quite horrific for me. However, I was quite optimistic of mastering all American idioms when I bought my first conventional idiom dictionary. I mean a book dictionary, not an electronic one.

Thank God, around two years ago I round this site. This site offers a wide range of idioms presented in a very simple way. It’s so simple that they don’t have a search bar there to search for a certain idioms. However, it does help me a lot. With this, I can be ready to do all my job concerning idioms.

Hey, the good thing of this site is that I can download it with webzip and work offline. Well, it’s quite impossible for me to stay online day in and day out, you know. Sometimes, when I need to, well, be in my real world, I work offline and avoid buzzes in my yahoo messenger. It is here that the webzipped site becomes vital. I can work offline with the idiom dictionary. Well, thanks a zillion for the idiom, My Jewelz.
