What are the cool things of B2evolution? Well, so far I still cannot tell you a lot. I just tried to install it 3 days ago (actually I did install one several months ago, but not seriously). This time, I did it seriously. I do want to integrate all my blogs.

And sure enough, B2evolution is the kind of CMS script that’s suitable for those who have lots of blogs, when you think WordPress’ “category” is no longer adequate to categorize the contents of your blogs. In my case, my lots of interests, all of them are so different from each other, including 1) my interest in literature, 2) my interest in learning about linux dan computer, 3) my interest in talking, really require me to have different blogs. But problem is, I don’t want to log in to my different blogs everytime I want to post about a topic. Therefore, I’ve been searching for a blog software that can integrate all my interests in one blog.

B2evolution is the answer. With B2evolution, I can make a blog, with a single domain name, but can give me multiply blogs. So, I can find a domain name that can be the umbrella for my four fields of blogging interest. Okey then, I think that’s all. More to come about B2evolution.

After searching for a graphical interface for my wordnet database for quite a long time, I finally found one. I found it on http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-598282.html.

There are a series of short easy steps to follow. Here goes the steps:

type ~$ sudo apt-get install wordnet … (well, I’m still a newbie in Ubuntu. But from the look of the command, I can infer that this is the first step to get the database… in my case, since I already have the most current database of wordnet, the process didn’t take a long time)

then type ~$ wn “animation” -over (this will give you the look up of “animation”)

and finally type ~$ wnb (which is to launch the application)

So, I now have my offline dictionary for my Ubuntu Hardy Heron.

My Ubun-MacWow guys, after quite a long time leaving this blog to get back to my old blog, I finally have to come back here to tell you stories. I have just turned my Ubuntu Hardy Heron into Mac Leopard (in terms of appearance of course hehehe). You wanna know how to do it? It’s very simple (if you’re the kind of person who like challenges–I think all Linux users love challenges).

In a nutshell, what you have to do is just:

1. Finding a skin for your application bars,

2. Activating your compiz fusion

3. Putting on dock (here for Linux we call it AWN - Avant Window Navigator)

Well, since I owe a lot to this site, then I will direct you to visit him here:

Please enjoy it yourself and feel the challenge. Hehehe…

After feeling dissatisfied by the incompatibilities of Firefox 3 (Beta) with Mozilla addons (which are very important for me, I finally decided to downgrade the default Firefox 3 (Beta) on my Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron to Firefox 2, the best web browser ever :D.

I tried to google for commands to downgrade the webbrowser (you still remember that I’m a newbie in unix-based OS, right?)

From a website and a forum, I found these lines of commands:

sudo apt-get purge firefox-3.0
rm -r ~/.mozilla/firefox
sudo apt-get install firefox-2

Yes, that’s it. I tried these commands and they did work (although I have to wait for about 10 minutes for the download and installation to complete. Well, no problem, since I’m very addicted to such addons as “deepest sender” for blogging, “pray times” to remind me when it comes to have prayers, “gmail notifier” to be informed about new messages in my gmail mailbox and so on.

So far, I’ve been very happy with my Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron’s performance. It’s still the cool ubuntu I knew last year. However, I’ve got a small complain about it. Well, let’s not call it a complain. Let’s just say that it’s “a request for improvement”. Well, actually it’s person by person request.

It’s about the Firefox 3 (Beta). I don’t know why, maybe because it’s so new that lots of firefox addons in the Net are not compatible with it. Maybe for other people it is okay. But for me, a full time blogger :D, I don’t like the fact that some blogging addons for firefox can’t work with Firefox 3 (Beta).

For example, I usually use a firefox addon called Deepest Sender for me to send blog posts to my wordpress-based blogs. However, I have found out that deepest sender is not compatible with Firefox 3 (Beta). So…. I have to visit my blogs one by one if I want to entry a post. The problem is, I’ve got 5 different wordpress-based blogs. So… it’s time consuming to visit the blog one by one, right?

So, please 1) improve firefox 3 (beta) as to be compatible with the existing addons in the Net, 2) for all addon engineers, please upgrade your addons :D.

Thanks all.
