Oh my God. There’s a very big thing that I forget to review. What is it? Yes, I can hear you: Wordpress.org

Yeah, I should thank WordPress first off for their effort providing a cool and easy to use CMS that enables people all around the world easily manage their sites without having to master html scripting, java scripting, and any other scripting skills needed to manage a website.

I began my WordPress experience by making a translator’s diary (hey, sorry I can’t give you the hyperlink, I’ve already deleted the blog), and then writing practice blog (I’ve alrealy moved its content to another secret blog of mine, :D), and then my literary community Continue reading »

Idioms are quite horrors for us Indonesian, because sometimes we can make sense of their meanings only by knowing the words that build them up. Yeah, another reason is we Indonesian have different cultures from that of American.

In my case, as a novel translator, “encountering idioms” is my middle name. Hehehe… I mean, I can expect to see idioms anytime I open any page of a novel to translate. Yeah, it can be quite horrific for me. However, I was quite optimistic of mastering all American idioms when I bought my first conventional idiom dictionary. China is quite famous for its progresses in economy as well as technology. She has assaulted malls all over the world with its “made in china”-labeled products. In the case of Indonesia, you can easily find “made in china” products ranging from cameras, laptops, and kids’ toys to the cheap (and later found containing malicious food additives) candies and snacks. In general, China is famous for its cheap, mass production and market presence all over the world.

However, China is China. Years roll and the globalization has forced the world to be more open. And China is quite accessible now. And this book by Chen Guidi and Wu Chuntau (entitled Will the Boat Sink the Water?) Continue reading »

Actually, I’ve had my facebook account since long time ago. However, I hadn’t submit my appropriate profile, picture, and supporting application until two weeks ago. At that time, my friend invited me to play scrabble there. I was quite perplexed. Yes. It had never flashed into my mind playing a game online through a social network group like that.

I’ve been an active multiplyer since one and a half year ago. But I used it only for posting my writings and commenting my friends’ writings and pictures. I was once very interested in friendster, but then I quit it because I didn’t find Continue reading »

I used to think that Modzila Firefox would be my final choice of web browser. I just realized that in this unlimited cyber world, making just a final judgment is silly. Yeah, I just converted to a new web browser that calls itself Flock Social Web Browser.

At first, I thought I would be another light and stable browser the way modzila firefox is, although I was still wondering why it labels itself “social web browser”. I was also quite excited with the skin and some add-ons. Sooner, I found that the label social turned out to be related with cyberly social forums and activities, such as RSS-ing, blogging, facebook-ing and all.
